In the past two days, I've been pulled over by two city cops on the way to the emergency room because I broke my toe for the second time in a week (same toe) and was told that I didn't have my license plate fully lit and that it was being blocked by the SAME license plate rim I've had on there for like 7 years... Then I got towed (not TOE-d) sometime today by the city, not the university, so I had no idea where to pick my truck up and had to call the police department... Finally, I found it and the guy told me I needed to wait an hour to pick it up. Therefore, I had to miss work which sucks because we were going to learn some new songs... Anyway I finally got to the place and got my truck back for $100 only to find a ticket on the window for two citations: parking in a fire zone (if I recall--and I do--I was parked only about 2.5 feet into the red section... I guess it's enough) and BLOCKING THE VIEW. I guess BLOCKING THE VIEW justifies a ticket for $80... I got home and found a check for $250 in my mailbox for winning a business idea competition... Life's a roller coaster.

So... I'm starting to make more and more websites... I need to find some leads to new clients, and I need your help: I'm not sure exactly how, but if you'll send me business, I'll send you something great! Money, a song, a hug, etc. When I figure out my strategy for getting new clients, I'll let you know!

I just finished reading Seth Godin 's book, Purple Cow. I would condider it the "Phil Town's Rule #1" on marketing in a new age. Basically, he discusses reasons why marketing today needs to built directly into the product, instead of viewed as a Product Development--Manufacturing--Marketing--Sales cycle, where each is a separate entity of the operations. The book has given me some great insight into the operations of my company, Higher Calling Music.net, which sells independent music from mostly unknown artists. I've been trying to increase sales there for awhile, and wasn't sure about which route to take in my marketing strategy, but I believe I've figured out a way to make my product REMARKABLE: I plan to offer downloads of the mp3 files ONLY, and offer a FREE hard-copy CD in the mail to anyone who purchases the downloadable version. One price, one product, two different ways to get it. I'm hoping it's as REMARKABLE as it sounds!
